Maurice del Bourgo's reputation as a versatile artist is showcased in some of the earliest issues of the Classics Illustrated series. In 1941 and 1942, del Bourgo contributed to popular adaptations of William Tell and Buffalo Bill stories as well as tales by Alexandre Dumas and Jack London.
